YOUR AVILA VARA RING SIZE - Avila Vara

YOUR AVILA VARA RING SIZE

Avila Vara rings feature very large diamonds set in substantial gold and platinum. Refer to our guide to understand your size.

Finding the right ring size for a particular piece is all about a holistic approach to understanding the desired fit as it corresponds to the finger, and the wearer, and indeed the intended wear of the ring itself.

This isn’t an exhaustive ‘how to’, just some tips we find useful in considering sizing when considering an Avila Vara design particularly. Because Avila Vara rings stylistically feature very large diamonds and are also handcrafted with a hefty weight of gold or platinum, this means our rings are heavier no matter the melée accents, and hold centre diamonds that are a minimum of 1.5cts. On average, our rings are heavier in platinum and gold by double and sometimes triple in precious metals, and this means that a simple diamond half-eternity band that may weigh 1.3grams of gold in most high-end retailers, weighs 2.3-3 grams.

Engagement rings, wedding bands and signets tend to be worn every day, whereas statement rings and stacking sets are occasion pieces. Determining the correct ring size depends on where the ring will sit on the desired finger and what the ring will be used as.

For Avila Vara rings, our Asteri 3.52ct ring should be comfortable for hours at a time, especially if it is an engagement ring, but due to the size of the diamond, it will do best if it has a safe and secure fit. Make sure you have the correct size for this ring, as if it is too big, it will slip side-to-side, and whilst a diamond is the hardest of all gemstones, you don’t want it scratching your other jewellery. Alternatively, if you are choosing a Dualiti ring, which is between 22-26+ grams of platinum and gold, the size will need to be looser to take into consideration the girth of the ring itself. Smaller fingers must accommodate the height of the ring and take into consideration the measurement from the base of the finger to the first knuckle.

As a rule, we ask that you visit your jeweller and have them take a few measurements with a Wheatsheaf Standard Gauge to ensure that you are choosing the size that takes into consideration the use of the intended ring, particularly if it is to be worn daily. For the Dualiti ring, Avila Vara designs, we ask you to choose 1 size above your normal ring size.

If you are unsure about the correct ring size you need, please refer to our ring guide and match an existing ring to it. You'll need to find a ring that fits comfortably on the desired finger, and compare its interior diameter to the outline on the printed guide.

The size you'll need for your ring will depend not only on your finger, but on the intended purpose (engagement, special occasion, signet) of the ring and the regularity of intended use. Please contact us with any specific questions about designs and fit for Avila Vara rings.

So, when figuring out the right size for an Avila Vara ring, the weight of the piece must be considered for comfort, and the size of the diamonds for wearability.
